		<description>The safest thing to do for beta 1 is to pre-install SharePoint yourself.  The "bad data" that Robert refers to only gets in the database if the TFS configuration wizard installs SharePoint.  So, if it is already installed then you should not run into this issue.

Note that this problem should not exist in the next beta 2.</description>

It turns out it would not have helped to re-run the configuration wizard because the damage was already done (bad data had been introduced into a SharePoint database).

Your solution of deleting everything and starting over was the right one.
